Charlie Red Star was a name given to a collection of UFO sightings that occurred in south-central Manitoba, near the town of Carmen, in the summers of 1975 and 1976.

Charlie Red Star was described as an orb or fireball and was seen to be stationary, sometimes evasive or playful, and at other times speeding off quickly. There were even more dramatic reports of objects with “ferris wheel” and “saucer” shapes. As well there was often more than one Charlie Red Star, with smaller orbs and “entities” joining in the display.

Remarkably, the UFOs were seen by hundreds of witnesses, including members of the police force and television crews, over several months. Despite being apparent that all these witnesses were seeing something, to this day, the entire event remains a mystery.
